Kimono Ceremony || Fort Collins, Colorado Portrait Photographer
This was a quick mini-session that I did for a fun and fearless little girl around Old Town Fort Collins. In Japan, Shichi-Go-San (which means Seven-Five-Three) is a traditional rite of passage for three and seven year old girls and three and five year old boys. The children are dressed in kimono- many for the first time and in Japan they visit shrines. Here in the US we went out around the city to get some super cute photos for the family here in the states and in Japan. Doing these photos was a new experience for me and I think the tradition of Shichi-Go-San is a fantastic family ritual. I look forward to doing more for these folks and for other Japanese families.
