Abbey + Chris || Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado
Photographing weddings in Fort Collins is not only special to me because I own my own business here, but also because I live here, and get to do fun things like photograph the wedding of the girl who did my hair for our wedding two years ago! (you can see her amazing work on my hair HERE on our personal blog... which needs some serious updating. *adding to my list of things to be better at in 2017*) Yay small towns! Although, I guess Fort Collins isn't really considered a small town anymore, though - it's growing pretty rapidly. A lot of people grumble about it, but I love that it's growing - it means more couples for us to meet and photograph in the years to come, so bring it on! Also, as my husband would say, if you're not growing you're dying, so yay for living in Fort Collins!
Abbey and Chris had a very laid-back, relaxed, fun, love-filled, bohemian wedding this summer. Abbey got ready at a cute old town Fort Collins AirBnB with her girls, and Chris got ready next door, and they had their first look together at Lee Martines Park, just up the road. It was a beautifully warm and bright day, with almost no clouds in the sky, and the perfect breeze to keep everyone cool during family photos before the ceremony.
The wedding was held upstairs at The Mainline in downtown Fort Collins, overlooking the cute shops and restaurants below. The exposed brick owl cigar wall made a super-hip backdrop for the intimate ceremony, which you can see some of the history of here. Chris's dad officiated, and Abbey's dad gave a reading, while both their mothers planted a tree together and watered it before the vows. Abbey and Chris were surrounded by their closest friends and family while pledging their love to each other, and it's wedding like this that I really need to remember to stuff more kleenex into my pockets.
The Mainline was an awesome venue for drinks, dinner, toasts, and dancing late into the night, and also had a lot of great alleys nearby for the wedding party portraits. I don't know if they're hosting full weddings there in 2017, but they throw a mean afterparty!
