Stephanie + Daniel || Meadows Event Center, Colorado

We love all of our couples, but getting to photograph a love like Steph and Dan's is truly special. They are two of the most laid-back, sweet, adorable, supportive, in-love couples we have ever worked with, and their beautiful outdoor Colorado wedding was so much fun to be a part of. First of all, doggies. There were doggies on the farm, and Steph and Dan's doggies in the photos - you just can't go wrong with dogs in a wedding. Steph got ready at a private residence out in Platteville, just a few miles down the road from where their ceremony would be held at the Meadows Event Center, and Dan got ready with his groomsmen at the wedding venue. There were cow skulls and bolo ties, abandoned buses, tractors, farm equipment, haystacks, silos, and so many fun things to photograph where they did their blind first look, and the wedding venue was super pretty. Marci from Marcella Camille Events did a fabulous job with the day, from set-up to take-down, and everything ran smoothly for the guests and the bride and the groom. I just love working with wedding vendors who rock their jobs, and become "friendors" after the wedding! The bolo ties were hand-made by Steph's grandfather - made from Fairburn Agate - the state gemstone of South Dakota, and given as gifts to all the groomsmen. The bridesmaids all got adorable robes and pretty necklaces or rings. Stephanie did all the flowers herself, and they came out stunning! Her dress was one of the coolest, vintage-y-est, most flowy bohemian gowns I've ever seen, and Daniel looked extra sharp in his man-bun. (love a good man-bun!) They had a meaningful ceremony, complete with sage-burning, prayer bowls, and the cracking of a geode - and then they partied the night away with beautiful toasts, delicious dinner, and super-fun dancing.

We did their engagement session earlier this year in RMNP, which you can see here - and we are just so lucky to get to work with such awesome couples who love and cherish each other so much. They have been through so much together, and are so full of joy and love, and couldn't ask for better couples to photograph! I know I say it all the time, but it's true!

What one piece of advice would you give to other couples getting married that you wish you had known before planning your wedding?
Don't sweat the small stuff! Pay attention to the details and what really matters to you as a couple, and the universe will provide the rest. It really will all fall into place! Also, don't take on too much DIY. You will burn yourself out! Don't be afraid to be picky about who you include, it is your day!
