Dana + Cody || Bingham Hill, Colorado
Fort Collins is a pretty awesome place to live, I'm not going to lie. We are blessed by the beer gods with over 20 breweries in town that I can name off the top of my head, and hundreds more nearby in our beautiful state of Colorado. We have the Cache de la Poudre River, which runs right through the middle of town (for now... as long as the NISP/GLADE atrocity doesn't happen - whewps! Am I getting political on my photography blog? Yes! Perhaps I'll stop here for now, but you can head over to the Save the Poudre website and read more about it if you like) Where was I? Ah yes- Fort Collins. We are nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, we have 300 days of sunshine a year, we're home to the New Belgium Brewing flagship location, and we're one of the most bike-friendly communities around. We even have a local radio show called Bikes and Beer - so it's no surprise when two wonderful people meet over the same things - bikes and beers!
Dana and Cody both work for New Belgium Brewing, and they actually met in rival bike gangs! (like, cycling up hard-core hills type of bikes, not black leather and chaps type of bikes) They had two days of celebrations for their wedding- a small and intimate ceremony on the top of one of our most popular cycling routes, Bingham Hill, and then a festive party on a private residence near the Poudre Canyon, with lots of friends and family, delicious dinner and crazy dancing, and of course, top notch beer. There was a solid crew of people who rode their bikes to and from the events, which is one of the reasons I love living in Colorado- you can roll into a wedding, sweaty from a bike ride, ready for a beer, and no one judges you. No one here is hung up on what shoes people are wearing, everyone's relaxed if the desserts are delivered to the wrong venue by accident, and if the sound goes out in the middle of dancing, they just keep on dancing! Our couples don't sweat the small stuff. They care about who they spend their day with- they care about seeing their friends and family, and having fun. They value closeness and happiness, good friends, good beer, fun dancing, beautiful summer nights, and long summer days. These are my people. It's weddings like Dana and Cody's that keep us going. We're here to capture your day so you can focus on what's really important at your wedding- love, and laughter, and each other.
